Description

S-22 was the first Soviet variable geometry wing aircraft. It was based on the Su-7B fighter-bomber construction, and was designed to solve the main problem of this aircraft family – the high landing speed. After its successful flight test results in 1967, the plane was put in serial production as Sukhoi Su-17.
